The Foreign Ceramics collection is made up of significant pieces of different origins that have come to the Museum through its acquisition of private collections. Given the special relevance of these pieces, they were first presented for public viewing at an exhibition in 1994: Between East and West.  Eastern, North African and European Ceramic Art from the Ceramics Museum of Barcelona. These collections are currently in storage in the Museum’s vaults.

Of particular interest are the lusterware tiles from Kashan (Iran) from the 14th century adorned with gold highlights; the Chinese porcelain from the 17th to 19th centuries; the Italian Renaissance pieces; the Portuguese, Dutch, French and German ceramics of Eastern influence; the French earthenware by the manufactures from the Midi region and the English creamware.
